Explore the Intrinsic Motivation 4 Learners Experience
Flexible, Social, and Supportive
Whether you are looking for support in your homeschooling journey, a community of friends, or a supportive learning environment focused on your child’s needs, our unique microschool in Riverside is your answer!
Student-Centered Learning
We believe that as parents, you know your child best. That is why we give you, as the family, the choice and power to decide what and how your child should learn. We work with you to understand your goals and support you in developing a learning plan that best serves your child. Our model was developed to allow for self-paced learning and to give your family all the flexibility and support you need.
Incorporating project-based and inquiry-based learning into your child’s education can enhance their learning experience significantly. Project-based learning involves engaging students in real-world challenges and tasks, encouraging them to explore, design, and create over an extended period. This method promotes critical thinking, collaboration, and communication skills, as students often work in teams to complete projects that culminate in a final product or presentation.
Inquiry-based learning, on the other hand, emphasizes the process of asking questions, investigating, and problem-solving. This approach fosters curiosity and a love for learning, as students take the initiative to explore topics that interest them. By guiding your child to ask thoughtful questions, we can help them dive deeper into subjects and develop a greater understanding of their learning environment.
Both of these methods allow children to learn at their own pace while actively engaging with the material, making education a more dynamic and meaningful experience. Ultimately, we aim to empower families to incorporate these effective learning strategies to create a tailored educational journey for their child.
Daily Schedules
Monday/Wednesday
-
We will begin each day with scripture study using the Come, Follow Me curriculum, providing a meaningful and enriching start to the morning. While this offers a valuable opportunity for reflection and learning, participation is entirely optional, ensuring an inclusive and welcoming environment for all.
-
In the mornings, we will come together as a group to review our weekly and daily goals, celebrate wins from the previous day, and share thoughts and feelings with one another. This time helps us build meaningful connections with each other and with me as a mentor, creating a supportive and uplifting environment to start the day.
-
Every day, students will each participate in their individual brain development program, designed by an expert in developmental psychology, which utilizes specifically chosen movements to enhance neural connectivity. This innovative approach focuses on integrating physical activity with cognitive tasks, promoting the formation of new synapses that facilitate learning. By engaging in targeted movements, participants can stimulate different areas of the brain, thus improving their ability to acquire and retain new information. The program emphasizes the importance of movement in cognitive development, providing a structured yet flexible framework that supports learners of all ages in their educational journeys.
-
When students enter our program, we conduct an intake meeting to identify their individual needs and preferences. This process involves discussions with both students and parents to pinpoint key areas of interest and necessary skill development. Based on this information, we will collaboratively determine which skills to focus on.
Mondays and Wednesdays will focus mainly on the fine arts pieces of the student’s interests. Our primary objective during this phase is to address the students' weaknesses while also leveraging and enhancing their strengths.
We will tailor the learning experience to ensure that each student receives targeted support and opportunities for growth in areas that matter most to them. This personalized approach aims to foster a deeper engagement with the material and encourage continuous improvement in their learning journey.
-
Student learning will be driven by their curiosity and inquiries, fostering a research-based approach to discovering answers. This process will be structured with clear objectives, guiding students toward practical applications such as composing a professional email or preparing an informational presentation.
-
Unstructured time is essential for cognitive development, creativity, and overall well-being. All students will have the opportunity to take a break, allowing their minds to rest while enjoying the freedom to move, socialize, play, and get fresh air. Lunch and free play will be an integral part of our daily schedule, taking place both indoors and outdoors on different days. During this time, students will be actively supervised to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
-
Students will engage in project-based learning, a dynamic and hands-on approach that fosters critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration. Through meaningful projects, students will explore real-world topics, conduct research, apply their knowledge, and develop practical skills. This process encourages creativity and independent thinking while integrating various subjects in an engaging and purposeful way. Projects will be tailored to students’ interests and learning levels, ensuring a personalized and enriching educational experience.
-
Students will take an active role in maintaining a clean and organized learning environment by assisting with cleanup and putting materials away at the end of each day. This practice fosters responsibility, teamwork, and respect for shared spaces, ensuring a prepared and welcoming setting for the next day’s learning.

Academics that Support and Inspire
Flex-days
Mondays-Thursdays
We are pleased to provide flexible scheduling options that effectively cater to the diverse and varying needs of families, allowing for full-time attendance throughout the week from Monday through Friday or even part-time attendance consisting of as few as two days per week. This thoughtful approach enables parents to determine the specific level of education they would like us to manage while also taking into account their own teaching contributions to their children’s learning experience. Students have the opportunity to select their preferred part-time education days from either the combination of Monday and Wednesday or the alternative pairing of Tuesday and Thursday, ensuring that each family can find an arrangement that works best for them.
Enrichments
Weekly on Fridays
In addition to our regular Monday through Thursday schedule, we are pleased to announce the introduction of optional Friday activities designed to be both fun and engaging. These sessions will provide students with the opportunity to explore and learn extra skills that are often not covered in a traditional academic setting.
Throughout the week, students will engage in research based on their individual questions and interests. Fridays will serve as a platform to apply what they have learned. Activities may include baking, sewing, gardening, construction, woodworking, working with animals, personal health, sports activities, leatherworking, and more.
Field Trips
Twice a Month
Our goal is to engage actively with the community and beyond at least twice a month. We aim to interact with business owners, explore natural environments, and gain insights into workplace practices. These hands-on experiences will provide students with valuable skills and help them identify potential careers and hobbies that ignite their interest. Through our STEAM enrichment activities, scheduled every other Friday, we connect classroom learning to real-life situations, ensuring that students receive a holistic education that extends beyond traditional learning environments.
